SNF RUN: Running into the Future!

On Friday, June 23rd, 2017, the evening race SNF RUN: Running into the Future, will be organized for the third consecutive year. The race will take place as part of the week-long open to all events of the Summer Nostos Festival (SNFestival), which is organized and exclusively funded by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), from June 18th to June 25th at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).

The SNF RUN, is free for all participants, and is organized on the occasion of the celebration of the international Olympic Day. The race starts at the Panathenaic Stadium and following a route through the historic city center, ends at the Stavros Niarchos Park.

This year’s race will include 2 different routes, of 10K and 6K respectively, as well as a 1K run for the Special Olympics athletes. The 10K race will commence at the Panathenaic Stadium at 20:40, while the 6K race will start 10 minutes later, at 20:50.

Aiming primarily at rewarding participation and effort, as well as enhancing sports culture, this unique race invites runners from all over Greece and abroad to be part of this celebration of sports and cross the line as one team at the new Park of our city!

The SNF RUN: Running into the Future is made possible through an exclusive grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and is overseen by the NGO Regeneration & Progress, in collaboration with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center and the Hellenic Olympic Committee, and under the auspices of the Hellenic Police.
