Kyriakos Anastasiadis (MD, PhD, FETCS, FCCP, FESC) is Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Head of the Cardiothoracic Department at AHEPA University Hospital, President of the Special Unit for Biomedical Research and Education at AUTH, and President of the Medical Department at AUTH. He is the Director of the Postgraduate Program of the Medical Department at AUTH on extracorporeal circulation in cardiothoracic surgery and Director of the Surgical Department and Deputy Director of the Medical Service at AHEPA Hospital. He is President of the National Board of Examinations for the specialty of thoracic surgery in Northern Greece and was a member of the Committee for the specialty of thoracic surgery at the Central Board of Health (KESY). He is the founder, first President, and a lifetime member of the Executive Board of the Minimal Invasive Extracorporeal Technologies International Society. He has served as the Secretary General of the Hellenic Society of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgeons and the President of the Society’s Education Committee. He has authored a number of scientific books and publications in scientific journals. He has organized and given lectures at numerous international and Greek scientific conferences. He has participated in many research projects in Greece and abroad, and his research and social work have been internationally recognized with awards.
