Basketball for all—at the opera

This is a basketball game unlike any you’ve seen before. It won’t be played on a basketball court, but onstage at the Greek National Opera. Some players may end up with more points, but this isn’t a game where anyone loses, because when it comes to inclusion in sports, we’re all on the same team.

The event will include two different matchups: the first featuring Special Olympics athletes, and the second featuring deaf athletes and basketball champions*.

After the end of the game, there will be a short audience discussion featuring legendary basketball player, coach, and CEO of the nonprofit Field of Life Panagiotis Giannakis and David Evangelista, Regional President & Managing Director of Special Olympics Europe Eurasia and Dimitris Giannakakis, COO of Field of Life.

The game is organized in collaboration between Field of Life and Special Olympics.
