Εnergy and sounds beyond the ordinary....!

Friday June 23, 20:00, Canal

Tigue

Tigue, a distinct band of percussionists are flooding the Canal stage with energy and sounds beyond the ordinary.

The three musicians, Matt Evans, Amy Garapic and Carson Moody, continuously explore the limits of their abilities and their instrumentation transformation, combining traditional percussion instruments with the sounds of random objects.

Their first album came out in 2015. Since then, they have distinguished themselves by participating in big music festivals, such as the Bric Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival and the Zemlika Festival in Durbe, Latvia, while performing in concert halls, galleries and universities such as the Yale School of Music, Princeton University and the Berklee College of Music.

Their work, while maintaining most of the indie-rock and post-rock genre characteristics, covers a great musical and sound range that includes rhythmically busy pieces as well as more introspective numbers that work with patterned drones, enabling them to reach out to an audience as diverse as the music they create.
