Wordless Music Orchestra: Jackie / Under the Skin

It started as a series of performances that evolved into an outstanding band. Now for the first time ever, Wordless Music Orchestra is coming to Athens for two unique performances at the Stavros Niarchos Hall of the Greek National Opera.

Wordless Music Orchestra was founded in 2006 by Ronen Givony and has performed since in museums, churches, nightclubs and in open spaces, bringing together musicians of different music genres such as classical, electronic and rock. The orchestra often combines its performances with film screenings, which is also what will happen in the Summer Nostos Festival.

The Greek audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the screening of the movies Jackie and Under the Skin, with a live performance of the movies’ scores, both created by renowned composer Mica Levi.

Jackie is an intimate portrait of one of the most important and tragic moments in American history, seen through the eyes of the iconic First Lady, then Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy (Natalie Portman). Jackie places us in her world during the days immediately following her husband’s assassination.

Under the Skin is a science fiction film starring Scarlett Johansson as a carnivorous alien who hunts down men-preys in Scotland’s isolated highways.
