Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, Associate Professor at the University of Athens Medical School, 1st Orthopaedical Clinic at Attikon General University Hospital

Dr. Panagiotis Koulouvaris was born in Athens. He holds degrees in Medicine and Physiotherapy from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. He specialized in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology and obtained his PhD from the University of Ioannina. His advanced training took place at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Cornell University, with a specialization in Reconstructive Surgery of Major Joints and Sports Injuries. His research began at Memorial Sloan Kettering and continued at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Since 2009, he has been an International Ambassador for the Hospital for Special Surgery. He is the Scientific Director of the Educational Programs on management of multi-trauma patients, being implemented in Greece as part of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s (SNF) Global Health Initiative (GHI). Dr. Koulouvaris is the Scientific Director of the postgraduate program "Exercise & Health" at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He is also the Director of the Sports Excellence and Mobile Medical Units programs at the nonprofit Regeneration & Progress, which were established through the initiative and exclusive support of SNF. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Attikon General University Hospital.
