In this intimate documentary, the now-90-year-old Dalai Lama addresses viewers directly to share, with wisdom and wit, simple lessons for a more peaceful world, one in which cultivating compassion for one another allows us all to thrive. “When you set out for Ithaca, pray that the way be long.” Based on Cavafy's masterpiece, the play Ithaca – Long Journey Home tells the story of Ulysses's return journey from Troy to Ithaca, and all the adventures he encounters, and the knowledge he acquires on the way. The play is performed by Cerebral Palsy Greece's Tuesday Players, a mixed group of people with and without disabilities who love to perform.

As part of Kafeneio tou Gianni, Academy Award–nominated Nia Vardalos brings Tiny Beautiful Things to life, performing excerpts, in English and Greek, from her acclaimed stage adaptation of Cheryl Strayed’s bestselling book, which has enjoyed sold-out runs in New York, Los Angeles, and Athens. Joining her, lyricist, playwright, and director Spiros Katsaganis reflects on the play’s international journey, his process of translating it into Greek, and directing its production at the historic Pallas Theatre in Athens. An Enemy of the People presents acclaimed actors, journalists, public health leaders, scientists, climate activists, elected officials, and local community members performing dramatic readings of scenes from Henrik Ibsen’s 1882 play as a catalyst for powerful, guided audience discussions about public health, freedom of the press, and environmental justice.

To attend the reading and take part in the discussion, separate registration is required.

But we’re not stopping there. On Monday, June 22, the celebration rolls on with Jean-Michel Jarre, the visionary musician became world famous with Oxygène, an impressive synth odyssey recorded at his home, which sold over 12 million copies worldwide. For all you Gorillaz fans, we’re sorry to say that those tickets vanished in just two weeks! But don’t worry, head back to the menu. There’s plenty more on offer to lift your spirits.
