Michael Chiklis is an Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning actor whose career spans four decades, including acclaimed work in film, television, theater and music.   
   
Best known for his work on the critically acclaimed series The Shield, a pioneer and cornerstone of the golden age of television, Michael played the lead role of Detective Vic Mackey in the series for FX. Paving the way for grounded and more authentic television viewing, both Chiklis and the show won multiple Emmy and Golden Globe Awards and received over 61 nominations and 13 wins in its 7-season run.  
  
Most recently, Chiklis starred as Mike Flynt in The Senior, an independent feature which opened in September 2025. Directed by Rod Lurie and produced by Mark Ciardi, The Senior is based on the inspiring true story of Flynt, who returned to college to play football at age 59.  
  
Michael starred in and directed episodes of the critically acclaimed series Accused, created by Howard Gordon. He starred in the pilot, which garnered the highest ratings for Fox in three years. He also starred in another episode in season two and directed two episodes in both seasons. In 2023, Chiklis starred in the MGM+/Amazon series Hotel Cocaine, created by Chris Brancato.  
  
Chiklis’ additional television credits include most notably The Commish, No Ordinary Family, Vegas, Gotham, HBO’S Winning Time, and the critically acclaimed American Horror Story. He also starred as Ben Clemens in the Paramount+ series, Coyote, for which he also produced.  
  
Demonstrating exceptional range, Chiklis is also known for his beloved role as The Thing/Ben Grimm in the Fantastic Four franchise. Additional film credits include Eagle Eye, The Three Stooges, Don’t Look Up, Wired and the upcoming Mongoose, starring Liam Neeson for Amazon. 
  
As he continues his work in front of the camera, Chiklis is also expanding his career behind it, with several directing projects currently in development and production.
