Lisa Gibbs is the president and CEO of the Pulitzer Center, a nonprofit global journalism organization. Founded in 2006, the Center is an essential source of support for ambitious journalism on the most pressing issues of our time: from climate change and global health to human rights and artificial intelligence. These stories reach tens of millions of people through news media partners and an audience-centered strategy that harnesses journalism for education, civic engagement, and impact. Lisa joined the Center in 2024 from The Associated Press, where she was vice president of philanthropic development. At AP, Gibbs led a team responsible for creating innovative projects that strengthened independent journalism and services for the news industry with the support of private foundation funding. Her work on partnerships followed a career as an award-winning business journalist. She was a reporter for Money magazine, executive business editor for The Miami Herald, and global business editor at AP. She is based in New York City.
