Konstantinos Rigos
Greek National Opera Ballet Director, Choreographer
Konstantinos Rigos is a Greek choreographer and director. He studied Finance at the University of Athens and dance at the National School of Dance, of which he has been President of the Board of Directors since 2019. Over the years, he has authored a number of dance productions and has been responsible for various innovative creations. Since 2018, he has been Director of the GNO Ballet. For the GNO, he choreographed the works Les Sylphides and A Little Piece Peace for America in 2007, while in 2017 he directed the musical Erotokritos. For the GNO Ballet, he choreographed Swan Lake, Les Noces, Dance with My Own Shadow, The Nutcracker, The Golden Age, Pedal for a Child, and Les Nuits d’été, while he directed La traviata and the musical Cheap Smokes. He served as the artistic director of the Dance Theatre of the National Theatre of Northern Greece. In 1990 he formed the OKTANA Dance Theatre Company, which significantly contributed to the development of modern dance in Greece. As a choreographer, he has worked for movies and plays from the Greek and international repertoire. As a contributing artist and photographer, he has collaborated with magazines. As a visual artist, he has participated in exhibitions in Greece and Cyprus.
