Ioannis Grivakos

Graphic Designer & Researcher, Tsomokos Communications

Ioannis Grivakos is a graphic designer and visual researcher working in the field of filmmaking and communications.He graduated magna cum laude from the Department of Graphic Design and Visual Communication at the University of West Attica. He aims to explore how the visual realm can reshape social ideas, practices, and spaces while fostering dialogue and public engagement. His visual approach is deeply influenced by the socioeconomic challenges and urban inequalities of his hometown, Peristeri in Athens. A keen reader, he draws inspiration from philosophy and literature.He is currently working in the content department of Tsomokos Communications while curating the pre-production and 360° communication campaign of Siamak Etemadi’s upcoming documentary on sexuality and disability. Ioannis has also been a member of the SNFCC Youth Council, contributing to communication campaigns for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. He remains closely affiliated with the objectives and projects of the SNFCC, contributing as an associate designer to a range of its cultural initiatives.Alongside his studies, Ioannis has worked as an archival researcher and graphic designer for historical documentaries with Tanweer Productions, Cosmote TV, Long Run Productions, and Green Olive Films. His research and designs have explored themes such as ancient Greek technology, philosophy, sexuality and disability, as well as the territorial conflict and urban decay of Famagusta. He has also collaborated with the Greek Film Center on the CINEDU program, which promotes visual literacy among students in schools across Greece. In addition, Ioannis has held the role of communication strategist and content creator for acclaimed Greek artists including Euripides Laskaridis and Nikos Xydakis.His designs have won awards from the University of West Attica and the Embassy of Switzerland in Greece.When he’s not working, you’ll find him walking through the streets of Athens, music blasting in ears.
