Erick Doyle

Erick has been managing Readington River Farm, New Jersey's first and only commercial bison operation, since 1998. Though he specializes in bison, the farm has domestic livestock as well. Along with production farming, Readington River Farm has agritourism and cinematic location programs that bring prestige and revenue to the farm. Understanding the delicate balance between production and ecology, he created an aggressive environmental plan for his farm with Rutgers University and the US Department of Agriculture. In the public sphere, Erick sat on the New Jersey State Board of Agriculture, overseeing the Department of Agriculture, for six years, and was President from 2020-2021. He also was a member of the New Jersey State Committee for USDA's Farm Service Agency from 2022-2025, implementing payment policies to farmers throughout the state. Erick graduated from the NJ Agricultural Leadership Program in 2009, and currently sits on its advisory board. The Program is dedicated to building skills young farmers need to become stronger advocates for the industry.
