Deadletter—currently a six-member lineup—is an alternative/art-punk band originally formed in Yorkshire by childhood friends Zac Lawrence (vocals), Alfie Husband (drums), and George Ullyott (bass).

Influenced by LCD Soundsystem, The Stranglers, Captain Beefheart, and Can, Deadletter combine sharp social observation with dynamic rhythms and intense art-punk aesthetics. They first made their mark with their EP Heat!, which introduced their politically charged and lyrically complex approach, but rose to prominence in 2024 when they released their debut album Hysterical Strength, which NME describe as “[striking] a winning balance between foreboding and fun.”

Deadletter have built their reputation through relentless touring and explosive live performances. From the streets of Yorkshire as teenagers to performing alongside names such as Placebo, Yard Act, Do Nothing, and Tropical Fuck Storm in major European venues, the band has cultivated a steadily growing and devoted following. Their second album, Existence Is Bliss, will be released on February 27. The first single, “To the Brim,” marks a new chapter in their musical evolution, demonstrating their willingness to move beyond their post-punk roots toward more experimental paths, without losing the raw energy and social commentary that characterize their work and have earned them a place among the most exciting up-and-coming bands in the UK.
