Cerebral Palsy Greece/Open Door
«Tuesday Players drama group, Cerebral Palsy Greece
Cerebral Palsy Greece/Open Door (CPG) was founded in 1972 to confront a major lack of services for people with cerebral palsy in Greece. CPG has never isolated itself or the people in its care and is constantly working to break down the barriers caused by ignorance and fear and to build bridges of communication. Our primary concern has always been the provision of services for people living with cerebral palsy, and at the Open Door Center of Education & Rehabilitation we are currently providing a wide range of services for 240 children and adults. Our mission also involves the training of specialized staff, provision for families with disabled members, and research into the causes and effects of cerebral palsy.
CPG has always believed in the extreme importance of education, art, and culture for the wellbeing of people living with disabilities, and our Tuesday Players drama group, comprised of children and adults with cerebral palsy, members of staff and volunteers, has produced over 25 different performances over the years (always in close cooperation with our choir and dance group) has received numerous awards and has appeared at major festivals in many different countries.
