Africa’s soft power is increasingly shaping global conversations—not just in culture, but in ideas, influence, and decision-making. From music, film, and visual arts to sport, literature, cuisine, and innovation, a new generation of African creators is redefining how the world perceives African creativity, identity, and leadership. These innovators act both as cultural ambassadors and as strategic voices, challenging outdated narratives, advocating for expanded African representation in global fora, and showing how culture can shape governance debates, diplomatic relations, and economic agendas.

At a time when global institutions are under strain—and questions of equity, representation, and sustainable growth dominate international discourse—Africa’s cultural rise offers a new model of engagement that goes beyond traditional development or commercial partnerships. Culture becomes a source of soft power: a vehicle for shaping norms, fostering dialogue, and influencing the rules and expectations that underpin the global system.

This session will bring together artists, technologists, and thought leaders to explore how Africa’s creative energy is intersecting with foreign policy, diplomacy, and global governance. The discussion will examine how cultural influence can support more inclusive decision-making, strengthen institutions, and generate economic opportunity in ways that are globally resonant yet locally grounded.

The conversation will explore:

How can Africa’s creative industries help reshape global narratives and expand the continent’s influence in international decision-making spaces?

In an era of competing global stories, how can art, media, and cultural expression strengthen trust, counter misinformation, and support more informed public discourse?

Can Africa’s cultural energy spark new forms of partnership, shape diplomatic engagement, and inspire global institutions to better reflect 21st-century realities?
