Kafeneio tou Gianni: Late night at the Kafeneio | AI on Trial? Unpacking the Verdict
Maybe it’s the coffee talking, or the fact that our phones are finally out of earshot, but there’s something about the tech-free Kafeneio tou Gianni that can give us a little more comfort in discussing whether and how humans can carve out a place for ourselves in the emerging AI-saturated world order.
On Thursday, June 25, Former US Congressman John Sarbanes will host a conversation with Tällberg Foundation Chairman Alan Stoga to debrief The Trials of Atlas, an original play by Alan that puts an AI agent at the defendant's table, charged with murder.
Immediately after the play, come to the Kafenio and join other SNF Nostos-goers who have listened to the judges, heard the witnesses, sifted through the evidence—and voted on whether or not the advanced artificial intelligence agent Atlas is guilty. Along with Alan and John, members of the cast, and jury members, you can grab a coffee, take a breath, and unpack the verdict. And there's an epilogue. Find out how a jury of 12 AI jurors voted when they were asked the same question: Can AI be guilty of murder?
