Join CAMFED (Campaign for Female Education) and members of its award-winning graduate network, the CAMFED Association, on an immersive journey from rural Africa to the gardens of Greece.

Through storytelling, and hands-on action, we’ll explore how young women on the frontlines of climate change are leading sustainable farming sessions that are keeping children, especially girls, in school, even in the face of extreme drought and food insecurity.

Cleopatra Chisanga from Zambia and Malumbo Mkandawire from Malawi will explain how climate-smart agriculture supports economic stability and access to education across rural communities—by improving crop yields, earnings, and food security so that children can remain and thrive in school. Then they will run an interactive workshop, bringing the audience into one of their sessions, in a live, guided demonstration.

This session will showcase grassroots climate leadership from young African women while engaging the audience in a fun, meaningful, hands-on experience.

It will touch on key themes including the link between school feeding, food security, nutrition, and education; the UN FAO’s Year of the Woman Farmer in 2026; and the topic of climate resilience through community action.
