STAVROS NIARCHOS FOUNDATION

Two weeks until SNF Nostos 2021

August 11 2021

Dear Friends,

Just two weeks remain until we all gather at SNF Nostos 2021 to engage and embrace our minds and spirits as we enjoy the last days of summer. With the big event fast upon us, we want to share an update on the situation in Greece, COVID-19 policies at SNF Nostos, and answer some of the questions we have received, as well as provide updates on the powerful lineup of events and programming that await us.

As you may be aware, on August 2 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a Level 4 Travel Health Notice for Greece. Our approach to this year’s SNF Nostos has been and remains for it to be an in-person festival. In order to make this possible, we are making every effort to offer as safe and welcoming an environment as we can, and since our message on July 23, we have developed further COVID-19 protocols for SNF Nostos in line with the latest public health guidelines.

Moreover, many of you have been asking us about the devastating wildfires which, along with the rest of Greece and much of the world, we are witnessing with great sorrow. While we are deeply concerned by their occurrence and their consequences for nature and the community at large, thankfully they have not and are not expected to affect Nostos in any way. We can only hope that SNF Nostos 2021, a celebration free and open to all, will offer a sigh of relief and a sense of optimism amidst the difficult summer we are experiencing.

COVID-19 Policies and Guidelines for Admission

To enter the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), where SNF Nostos is held, you’ll need proof of full vaccination (with the final dose administered at least 14 days prior), proof of recent recovery from COVID-19 (with a certificate of recovery from COVID-19, which will be considered valid for 180 days after the first positive test), or a negative PCR or rapid test result (performed within the last 72 or 48 hours, respectively). Children of up to 12 years old will be admitted freely and children between 12 -17 will require a negative self-test performed within the last 24 hours.

Some events require online pre-registration, and indoor events, designed to accommodate social distancing, also require proof of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19.

Remember to wear a mask, wash your hands frequently, and stay home if you are feeling unwell.

You can see here the detailed information on COVID-19 policies and how to access SNF Nostos events.

Updates to the SNF Nostos Schedule

As the situation evolves, we’ve responded not only by enhancing the COVID-19 guidelines for SNF Nostos, but also by adapting our programming while retaining an exciting lineup and remaining committed to the physical presence of artists, conference participants, and attendees.

The conference part of the SNF Nostos will be condensed from three days to two, i.e. to Thursday 26 and Friday August 27, while the artistic part of Nostos will take place as originally planned from Wednesday 25 (SNF Dialogues and SNF Nostos Run) to Sunday August 29 midnight.

You can see the latest full SNF Nostos schedule here and a detailed schedule for the SNF Nostos Conference here.

Thank you for your ongoing collaboration and your understanding as we work to realize the best possible version of this year’s SNF Nostos.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Best,
The SNF Nostos Team
