German citizen. Background as paramedic before commencing medical school in Austria. After completing the Doctor of Medicine, spent one year in London- UK to research on brain stimulation in epilepsy patients and finishing a Master of Science in Neuroscience at King’s College London. Afterwards start of Neurosurgery training in 2019 at the Medical University Graz in Austria. Interest in brain stimulation and medical research since medical school. Several courses in expedition medicine. Working for ESA and conducting research that will facilitate human spaceflight was a long held dream since medical school. Responsible for conducting 8 biomedical studies during the 2022/2023 season, and role of rescue team leader at Concordia. On a personal note likes to ride bicycles and tries to learn playing the piano.
