Game On: Addressing adolescent mental health through the power of sport

Tommy Clark presented Grassroot Soccer, an organization that uses the power of sport in its latest curriculum, Mindskillz, to focus on mental health. The goal is to provide education and support for youth across the globe through the lens of soccer. In this session, Clark emphasizes adolescent attention, the metaphors soccer offers, and the aim of providing a strong support system that reaches children in Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Malawi, to name a few countries. Clark, a physician and professor, along with Grassroot Soccer’s coaches, demonstrated how the principles of soccer can foster young people’s physical and mental well-being.
