Low

The Summer Nostos Festival: RetroFuture Edition invites you to rewind to a year ago, on the Great Lawn of the SNFCC, when the band Low gave the audience an unforgettable musical experience a few months after the release of their twelfth and best—according to the critics—album, Double Negative.

Low, the slow tempo rock band from Minnesota, is an institution in the global indie rock scene. The band’s founding members, Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker, along with Steve Garrington, never stop experimenting, exploring a type of sonic minimalism that highlights the harmony of their voices. The band’s albums are distinguished by their musical depth and esoteric lyrics.

In a career spanning nearly three decades, thousands of live shows, and 12 albums, their first mainstream moment was when they recorded “Just like Christmas” in 1999. Their cover of “Little Drummer Boy” for a Gap TV ad became one of the most emblematic Christmas songs in the U.S. and around the world.

Watch the Summer Nostos Festival: RetroFuture Edition online for an atmospheric music evening with Low, and experience the fascinating interplay of their voices and their intense spirituality.
